Atascadero Pet Center has its own Isolation Ward. This is a separately contained ward to
house patients with contagious diseases. (Canine parvoviral gastroenteritis is an example of such a contagious disease.)
Special precautions are taken by all individuals entering and exiting this ward (such as wearing gloves, gowns, and booties) so as not to allow the spread of disease to patients in the rest of the hospital. This ward is carefully disinfected daily and between patients.
