Katrina Stanchev was born and raised in Central Illinois. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in 2008. Afterward, she moved to Indiana to attend Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, and received her degree in 2012. After graduation, she practiced in Northern Indiana for 3 years before becoming tired of the long winters, and decided to relocate to sunny California! She has been practicing small animal surgery and medicine at APHEC since June 2015. In 2016, she started a house call service that provides peaceful at home euthanasia to the pets of San Luis Obispo County. She is currently working on becoming fear free certified, to provide a low stress, anxiety free hospital environment for our 4 legged friends.
In her spare time she enjoys exploring beautiful California, hiking, traveling, gardening and wine tasting. She has one cat who loves being the star of the household.
