We have a fully-equipped hospital and surgical room to accommodate a wide range of procedures. A sterile environment, advanced monitoring, and a thermal heating system provide for the optimal health and safety needs of your pet during surgical procedures. Our hospital has a hyperbaric chamber on-site; hyperbaric therapy uses improved blood flow to aid in the healing process for certain injuries and illnesses. For the health of all of our patients, we are able to ward those with contagious diseases in our own isolation facility.

Hyperbaric Therapy

At Atascadero Pet Hospital and Emergency Center, we utilize an on-site hyperbaric chamber to help our animal companions improve blood flow to damaged areas, aiding the healing process from certain injuries and/or illness. During hyperbaric therapy, a patient is placed in the chamber and inhales 100% oxygen at pressures greater than sea level. This procedure is painless, with most patients actually falling asleep in the process.
Hyperbaric Therapy can benefit the following conditions:
- Severe Trauma or Crush Injury
- Snake Bite
- Acute Neurologic Damage (such as Disc Herniation, Spinal & Head Trauma)
- Slow Healing Wounds
- Gangrene or Ischemic/Vascular Injury
- Pancreatitis
- Severe Infection

At Atascadero Pet Hospital & Emergency Center, we are equipped with our own Isolation Ward. This is a separately contained ward to house patients with contagious diseases such as:
- Kennel Cough
